Coach trip 2018 Canterbury
On Sunday 13 May at the crack of dawn (8.00am!) 55 intrepid “pilgrims” set forth for Canterbury on our annual coach trip. As usual it was superbly organized by George and Jasper and started particularly well with a small rebate! Maps and tourist information were provided and we had a very smooth ride to the drop off points approaching Canterbury.
The three walks were all well subscribed and involved an 11 mile walk starting at Godmersham led by George, a 7 mile walk from Chilham led by Margaret, and a 3 mile self-guided walk along on the Great Stour Way.
Canterbury proved a lovely historic place to visit and we all had a wonderful day out.
Many very sincere thanks to George and Jasper!
Stile replaced near Bat & Ball pub
SE Hants group and Meon group volunteers replaced a stile with
a kissing gate and installed a new fingerpost near the Bat & Ball pub in August.
The cost of the gate ws shared equally by the groups.
This brings the total number of kissing gates that we have installed this year
