SE Hants Ramblers

We are aiming to build a collection of walking routes for group members.  Each route will include a title, the distance and ascent, a brief description, a map of the route, details of the starting place (including grid reference), and in some cases instructions on how to follow the route.  For an example, click here.

In the first instance we are concentrating on walks up to 6 miles, but later we aim to include walks in the 6 to 10 mile range, then 10+ miles.

For each set there will be a summary of the available walks from which you can select a particular walk by clicking on the code.

We would welcome contributions from any of our members - just contact    This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.       and we can discuss each case.

We will endeavour to make the route descriptions accurate, but bear in mind that the situation on the ground can change - stiles might be replaced by gates, paths may be closed or diverted etc

On the maps the arrows (if there) are at 1 mile intervals.  Use the back arrow at the top of the browser window to return to the previous page.

If you want to use any of the routes for a group walk you should certainly recce it beforehand to check it.

You are reminded that leaders should complete a risk assessment for each walk - the Ramblers form is a tick list to remind you of things to consider.  You can add your own comments.  For most of our walks the main risks are slippery chalk paths (particularly if wet), road crossings, and difficult stiles and bridge.   The risk assessment form from Ramblers is here.
